Gosnell and Jack Family History
Auckland, New Zealand, December 2010 |
My name is Andy Gosnell and welcome to my family history web page.
I originally started looking into my family history in early 2007 with
the intention of finding out about my father’s side of the family, a
side that I knew virtually nothing about. Once I started researching I
realised how little I also knew of my mother’s side of the family even
though I could still remember my grandparents. I was now researching
both paternal (male) and maternal (female) links in each generation
from both sides of my family. The inevitable happened and I decided
that I should also research my wife Linda's side of the family as they
are part of my son Andrew’s family tree. Four years later I had
amassed a large volume of information that I input into a family
history software package.
Family in general seemed to be interested in what I had put together
but I either had to send them gedcom files or print out various charts
or direct them to the Genes reunited website where I had also input
some basic family tree information. But access to this site would
require them to pay a subscription. Researching family history is time
consuming and can be expensive and I wanted what I had put together to
be available, quickly and easy to those family members who were
interested and who wanted to review it and could do so at a time of
their choosing, in a format that was easier to understand and without
them having to incur costs.
These are the reasons that this website exists. Although in its
current form it’s still basic I hope to improve both the layout and
content over the coming months/years.
Note on the content:
Most of the information on this site is publically available (if you
know how to access it) and where I believed its okay to do so I have
published the relevant information. I have more records and
information available but I decided not to publish many records
relating to births from 1980 onwards as the purpose of this site is to
provide historical family tree data and not to provide information on
every family member living today.
I am confident of the accuracy of the content, a large percentage of
which has been sourced however any mistakes contained within this
website are mine and mine alone. Should you read something that you
object to or you think it incorrect or needs amending or adding to
please call me or drop me an e-mail. You will find details on the
contacts page.
I hope you enjoy the content of this website as much as I have enjoyed
putting it together.

Click on any of the links below to view a family tree, starting with
the Paternal (male) line then showing each Maternal (female) line in
sequence through descendants. Below each link there will be additional
links to extended family trees relating to that generation, family
summaries and example records, usually the oldest records available in
that family tree lineage. Other family trees or items of interest tend
to have descriptions as the title.
Information on individuals within each tree can be found in the index
and in alphabetical order.
